(Yicai Global) June 3 -- To entice talent from Hong Kong and Macao to work in Guangdong, the provincial government is promoting special income tax policies that will preferentially levy their personal income tax, the provincial governor said this morning.
The southern Chinese economic dynamo will impose income taxes for scientists and technological researches at the same rate as in their places of origin, Ma Xingrui, the province's governor told a news conference today.
Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao apply different tax laws, but for high income workers the mainland province's individual income tax rate is in general much higher.
