(Yicai Global) Aug. 7 -- Hanwang Technology Co. [SHE:002362] (Hanvon Technology) won a USD815,000 (CNY5,480,200) bid to supply intelligent facial recognition access control systems to a smart community project in Yinchuan, Ningxia.

The Beijing-based firm said today that it received a notice from ZTE (Yinchuan) Smart City Industry Co. saying that it was selected to provide the systems for Smart Yinchuan's second stage information technology application platform.

Hanwang said it will supply non-matching dynamic facial recognition access control systems that can take pictures of facial images in videos without delays, extract their features, analyze people's movement, summarize target frequencies and sort target frequencies in descending order.

The tech supplier said the deal will make the company's products part of Yinchuan's facial recognition system to help the city enhance its ability to improve security and more effectively use video resources.

ZTE (Yinchuan) Smart City Industry is a joint venture and is mainly responsible for the construction of the 'Smart Yinchuan' project. It was established by the Yinchuan municipal government and ZTE Corp. [SHE:000063] in 2014. The former has a 90-percent stake and the latter holds a 10-percent share.

Hanwang said its successful bid shows its market position in the field and will have a demonstration effect on its efforts to expand its presence in the areas of smart cities and public security.
