Heilongjiang to Probe Government Committee's Illegal Occupation of Ski Resort Heilongjiang to Probe Government Committee's Illegal Occupation of Ski Resort

(Yicai Global) Jan. 3 -- Heilongjiang provincial government in Northeast China is investigating claims made against the Yabuli Ski Resort Management Committee, it said in response to a social media post.

Mao Zhenhua, who invested CNY2 billion (USD308 million) in Heilongjiang Yabuli Sun Mountain Resort and serves as its chairman, alleges that the government committee illegally occupies 230,000 square meters of his resort's land, state-owned news outlet the People's Daily reported yesterday.

Northeast China is widely known as a hotbed for unscrupulous government behavior. Another northeastern province, Liaoning, reprimanded 12 government units for irregularities and inefficiency at the end of 2016, causing headaches for entrepreneurs, state-owned news agency Xinhua reported last January.

The complainant made his assertions through a video posted by Jiang Guangce, chairman of Tibet Dechuan Investment Management Co., on social media outlet Weibo. The committee's occupation of the land seriously disturbs the normal operation of his company, Mao said.
