(Yicai Global) Aug. 17 -- Chinese tech giant Huawei Technologies Co. has decided to release a new flagship series, the Mate 10, in October. It will be priced above USD597 (CNY4,000) in China.
Huawei will unveil the product in Germany's Munich on October 16, Sohu Technology reported, citing a post on new releases that the company published today. The Mate 10's anticipated starting price is higher than the Mate 9's USD507 (CNY3,399).

The bezel-less mobile device comes with Huawei's proprietary Kirin 970 processor, 6 gigabytes of random access memory and a 4,000 milliampere hour battery.
The two leading high-end smartphone brands, Samsung Group and Apple Inc. [NASDAQ:AAPL], will release their new signature models, the Note 8 and iPhone 8, in the second half, Sohu Technology reported. Huawei is set to go toe-to-toe with the upscale phone market's two dominant players.
