(Yicai Global) Sept. 25 -- Smartphone maker Huawei Technologies Co. unveiled its flagship processor Kirin 970 at a Beijing press briefing today. The first phone to use the new component will be the Huawei Mate 10, which rolls out on Oct. 16 in Munich, Germany, Ifeng Tech reported.
The Kirin 960's successor has cut the 16-nanometer technological process down to just 10 nanometers. It uses 5.5 billion crystal tubes in its area of less than 100 square millimeters.
The new processor has also upgraded the dual camera lens, supports face tracking technology, intelligent motion detection, real-time recognition of movement speed and auto focus shooting. It runs new digital noise reduction technology to take more natural photos in night shots and has shortened the shutter response time by 30 percent.
Apple Inc.'s [NASDAQ:AAPL] iPhone 8, which was released recently in China, has suffered slow sales early on, with vendors on Alibaba Group Holding Ltd.'s [NYSE:BABA] e-commerce platform Taobao resorting to offering discounts, rather than the premiums typically slapped on to newly-released products.
