(Yicai Global) Oct. 28 -- Chinese cinemas' box office has exceeded CNY12 billion (USD1.8 billion) in the 100 days since reopening after Covid-19 lockdowns, much less than a year ago.

The figure equals 56 percent of that of the 100 days ended Oct. 27, 2019, as a nationwide policy limits seat occupancy rates, ChinaNews reported today, citing DengtaData.

Domestic releases have been most popular. War epic the Eight Hundred ranked first, raking in more than CNY3.1 billion (USD461.7 million), followed by My Hometown and Me, as well as animated fantasy movie Jiang Ziya.
