(Yicai) June 23 -- The winners of the Golden Goblet Awards, the highest prize at the annual Shanghai International Film Festival, were unveiled as the event's 27th edition wrapped up.
Kyrgyzstan's Black Red Yellow won for Best Feature Film at the Golden Goblet Awards Ceremony late on June 21. Chinese filmmaker Cao Baoping was named best director for One Wacky Summer, his second win in the category after taking the trophy for The Dead End in 2015.
Black Red Yellow intricately weaves together traditional craftsmanship, societal shifts, and personal destinies through its delicate portrayal of the lives and emotions of carpet weavers. The jury praised the film for using plain fragments to weave an emotional tapestry, gradually unfolding into a mirror reflecting life.
On Summer Sand by Japanese director Shinya Tamada and Wild Nights, Tamed Beasts by Chinese filmmaker Wang Tong were jointly awarded the Grand Jury Prix.
