(Yicai Global) April 11 -- JD.Com, the Chinese e-commerce firm in the throes of a senior management shakeup, plans to move the heads of two of its major business units to other positions.

Wang Xiaosong and Hu Shengli will assume new duties as part of sweeping staff changes, the Beijing-based company said. The moves aim to promote JD.Com's overall management development, the firm said, adding that Wang and Hu are two outstanding, seasoned managers and it expects them to contribute even more in their new roles.

The announcement follows the resignations of the company's chief technology officer and chief legal officer in March and its chief public affairs officer this month. In February, the company said it would lay off 10 percent of its senior executives to address organizational problems. Many employees say they are in the dark about the company's reform direction.

"The firm has not issued a clear adjustment plan," an insider told Yicai Global. "Perhaps only Chairman Liu Qiangdong knows what changes will be made."

Wang, who has served over a decade, was JD.Com's youngest vice president. He headed 3C, its fresh food and fast-moving consumer goods businesses, as well as the firm's 7Fresh small automated supermarket project.

Hu was named as president of JD's lifestyle business unit and a senior vice president this January, public information shows.
