(Yicai Global) Dec. 22 -- Jinfa Labi Maternity & Baby Articles Co. [SHE:002762] has become the sales agent in China of Japan's maternal and infant product maker Pigeon Corp. [TYO:7956] and the two have formed a partnership based on this arrangement.

Jinfa Labi signed a cooperation agreement with Pigeon (Shanghai) Co. yesterday, the middle-end baby consumer goods developer announced today. It will buy products by submitting orders to Pigeon Shanghai, with a minimum annual purchase amount of CNY50 million at the initial phase, per the announcement.

Since Japanese Pigeon is a well-known global infant product brand, working with it will enrich Jinfa Labi's infant commodity category, exercise a synergistic effect on its existing business and improve its sales channels, it said.

Jinfa Labi boasts over 1,000 specialty maternal and infant product shops across the country, with sales outlets also in economically-developed small cities in addition to larger ones. Formed in 1957, Pigeon Corp. specializes in breastfeeding accessories and infant skincare products. It took in almost USD95 billion in sales revenue this year.
