(Yicai Global) Feb. 27 -- A unit under Zhejiang Rifa Precision Machinery Co. has won its CNY41-million (USD6.5-million) bid to supply wing-body configurations for the China-made ARJ21-700 aircraft.

Rifa Aviation Digital Equipment Co. will look to sign a formal supply contract with Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Co., which builds sub-assemblies for the plane, as soon as possible, the parent said in a statement.

The deal will extend Rifa's presence in the aerospace while impacting operating income and profit, it added.

The ARJ21 is a twin-engine regional airliner made by Commercial Aircraft Corp. of China. Its maiden flight was on Nov. 28, 2008, and the first model was delivered to Chengdu Airlines in December last year. The aircraft has since been adopted by 21 airline and accrued orders tallying 453 units.
