(Yicai Global) Nov. 6 -- The Rockefellers, one of the US’ wealthiest families, are to bring their passion for the arts to Shanghai and plan to set up a creative arts center which will also serve as their Asian art business headquarters, The Paper reported today.
It will include an art museum, a theater, an industrial park and an interactive center for artists from China and the US, the report said, citing Hui Xin, chief executive officer of the Rockefeller Art Foundation’s China headquarters at the China International Import Expo.
The project, which will be the foundation’s first major investment in the country, will focus on nurturing the arts and the digitization of art works to help monetize artists’ concepts, Hui said. No further details were given.
