(Yicai Global) March 19 -- SafBon Water Service (Holding) Inc. Shanghai recently won the bid to build a seawater desalination project in Kazakhstan in a public-private-partnership model. The project is expected to receive about USD100 million in investment.

The company will build a 50,000 cubic-meter per day desalination plant, the energy, housing and communal services agency of Mangystau region of the Republic of Kazakhstan recently confirmed, as the Shanghai-based water service company announced today.

The project will have a cooperative period of 30 years, per the announcement. Execution of the project will benefit the company's international development and positively impact its long-term performance, the statement added.

Kazakhstan is landlocked, but the Caspian Sea in its west is the world's largest inland body of water and an important water reservoir for the country.
