(Yicai) Dec. 11 -- The sales of Nio's Onvo L90, Changan Automobile Group's Lumin, and many other leading auto models tumbled in China last month.

Lumin, a small car with an average price of less than CNY100,000 (USD14,160), saw sales plunge 44 percent to 11,744 units in November from a month earlier, the biggest drop by number of units, according to data from auto industry platform Dongchedi. Some 139 car models that sold over 3,000 units last month logged a month-over-month drop.

Nio's sales of the Onvo L90 nearly halved to 5,950 units, while those of Deepal Automobile Technology's S07 fell 56 percent to 3,819 units. Geely Automobile Holdings' Xingyue L and Binyue, SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile's Wuling Hongguang Mini EV, and Jetour's X70 sold 4,000 fewer units each.

Monthly sales of Great Wall Motor's Haval Menglong plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, Leapmotor's C16, and Geely's Galaxy Xingyao 8 PHEV declined by more than 3,000 units. In addition, those of Xpeng Motors' P7 tumbled 49 percent to 2,882 units and of Geely's Lynk & Co 09 fell 39 percent to 4,330 units.

However, the sales of a caramker's one model can decline while those of other models soar. For example, Leapmotor sold fewer C11 and C16 units, but delivered 7,397 units of its new Lafa5 in its first month, while sales of its B10 increased by 1,301 units month over month. Nio shipped 10,689 units of its ES8 last month, up from 6,703 in October, while Deepal Auto saw L06 deliveries surge to 3,257 units from 608.

Sales of Dongfeng Nissan's N7 dropped 39 percent to 4,016 units. In addition, Xiaomi also saw its SU7 sales fall for the fourth straight quarter to 12,520 units, down from a peak of 24,410 units in July.

Retail sales of passenger vehicles in China fell 8.1 percent to 2.23 million units last month from a year ago, compared with a 0.5 percent drop in October, according to data released by the China Passenger Car Association on Dec. 8.

China's car market will experience an even more intense elimination competition next year, according to analysts.
