(Yicai Global) May 3 -- Shanghai has discovered one imported novel coronavirus cases as of yesterday, taking the eastern city's confirmed imported case total to 314, the municipal health commission said this morning.

The new case is a Chinese citizen who studied in the US, traveled back to Shanghai on April 29, according to the commission.

Authorities have traced 48 people who had been in contact with this case during the journey and placed them under quarantine, the public health authority added.

The commission logged no new domestically transmitted confirmed cases as of yesterday. It also reported zero asymptomatic cases under observation.
