(Yicai Global) March 3 -- Shanghai reported a new case of the novel Covid-19 coronavirus  yesterday, bringing its total to 338, the Shanghai Health Commission announced this morning.

The sufferer, a native of Heilongjiang province, lives in the city's eastern Pudong New Area. Health authorities are conducting an epidemiological investigation of the case, according to the commission.

Two more patients have fully recovered and were released yesterday, bringing the city's total of discharged persons to 292.

As of yesterday, three people had died, nine remained in critical condition, and 34 were stable. The patients are aged between seven months and 88 years of age and include 176 men and 162 women. 

The eastern megacity has to date cleared 2,433 suspected cases, while another 19 are undergoing further testing.
