(Yicai Global) July 24 -- Shiseido Co., Japan's largest cosmetics maker, will recall 23 body wash products, including four sold in China, due to changes in their fragrance caused by use of raw materials that oxidized when exposed to air.

Shiseido has discovered lately that the fragrance of body wash products sold in Japan differs from before, the cosmetics maker's official website announced.

An internal investigation shows that the changed fragrance comes from the use of raw materials that have been exposed to the air and oxidized. Although product safety and quality remain unaffected, the fragrance falls short of company standards.

Shiseido's Chinese website has also published the recall announcement. Four of the 23 body wash products subject to recall entered the Chinese market after mid-June. Consumers may check the relevant batch number to apply for a refund after validation.
