(Yicai Global) Nov. 13 -- China's centralized mobile payments clearing organization handled a more than doubled volume of transactions during this year's Singles Day shopping festival on Nov. 11.
The volume rose to 1.54 billion, NetsUnion Clearing said in a statement today. Traffic peaked at about 4 a.m. when the bureau settled 71,500 transactions per second. The data include Ant Financial Services Group's Alipay and Tencent's WeChat Pay.
The value of transactions grew by 32 percent to CNY1.16 trillion (USD165.3 billion) from a year ago.
