(Yicai Global) July 12 -- Shandong Sun Paper Industry plans to invest about CNY2 billion (USD293.4 million) to build an offset printing paper plant with an annual output of 450,000 tons in its base in Jining in China's eastern Shandong province to improve its products' competitiveness in the high-end cultural paper market, the company said in a statement yesterday.

The project includes the construction of pulp allocation and paper-making process facilities, supporting raw material yards, finished product warehouses and public facilities. Construction will have an estimated duration of 18 months, the statement said.

The major users of high-end specialty offset printing paper, the project's main product, are the educational and cultural publishing industries, the statement added.

Offset printing paper can preserve good color purity of printed matter and is mainly used for posters, packaging boxes, painting albums, and pictures, public information shows.
