(Yicai Global) Dec. 15 -- Toyota Motor (China) Investment Company Ltd. has filed a plan with China's quality overseer to recall some imported 2017 Lexus CT 200h series cars manufactured from Nov. 21, 2016 to April 3, 2017, the agency reported on its official website yesterday.

Toyota's data shows 1,200 vehicles are subject to the recall in mainland China, as they may be at risk of leaking and pose potential safety hazards when filling up or when their fuel tanks are full, since these may defective because of a welding problem.

Toyota Motor (China) will replace the affected fuel tanks with upgraded tanks free of charge to rectify the defect for all vehicles recalled.

Owners should immediately stop filling up if they spot a leak and should contact local distributors promptly for repairs after the recall begins.
