WeChat Warns iPhone Users About Buggy iOS 13.2 WeChat Warns iPhone Users About Buggy iOS 13.2

(Yicai Global) Nov. 4 -- Tencent Holdings, the owner of popular Chinese social media platform WeChat, has advised users with iPhones not to upgrade to the latest Apple iOS 13.2 because of a bug that kills apps running in the background.

Apple's new operating system may cause WeChat to close suddenly so users should wait for the problem to be fixed before upgrading, the Shenzhen-based firm said in a push notification via WeChat on Nov. 2.

Late last month, tweeters around the world complained that with the new system, the use of apps including Youtube is often terminated. Some netizens suspected third-party apps to cause the strange behavior but others said that even Safari turned off out of the blue.

Apple has not yet given its official response regarding the incidents.
