(Yicai Global) Nov. 13 -- Chinese smartphone maker Beijing Xiaomi Technology Co.'s store on Tmall, the online business-to-consumer marketplace run by Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. [NYSE:BABA], made an impressive CNY2.46 billion (USD373 million) in sales on Nov. 11, the Chinese shopping festival known as Singles' Day, the company said yesterday.

The figure almost doubled from last year, setting a new record for single-company daily sales on the platform and cementing Xiaomi's position as the leading Singles' Day seller for the fifth straight year.

The company came out on top in terms of smartphones sold and Android smartphones sold, the company added.

Xiaomi's employees made celebratory posts on their 'circle of friends' on WeChat, the social media and messaging app run by Tencent Holdings Ltd. [HKG:0700]. Circle of friends is akin to Facebook Inc.'s [NASDAQ:FB] timeline feature, where users can upload photos and statuses and display them chronologically.

Lei Jun, Xiaomi's founder, filmed the joyous occasion on his own smartphone and leapt onto a table to deliver a speech to his staff.
