(Yicai Global) June 1 -- The Xiong'an New District to Beijing Daxing International Airport Express Line project has embarked on first-phase construction, with the government awaiting bids for surveying and design, Xiong'an announced on its official document shows.

Overall investment in the project is about CNY29.4 billion (USD4.1 billion). The state will foot the entire bill, Xiong'an announced on its official account on Tencent Holding’s popular WeChat messaging app. The segment will be some 85.75 kilometers in length and have seven stations strung along it.

The route is designed for speeds of over 160 km per hour. After completion, it will only take one half hour to go from Xiong'an New District to Beijing Daxing International Airport and one hour to the Chinese capital itself.
