(Yicai Global) June 20 -- The Asia Innovation Conference will kick off in China's southern tech hub Shenzhen on June 25, welcoming artificial intelligence experts, entrepreneurs and scholars to discuss the future of sci-tech in Asia and possibly form industry-leading collaborations.

Co-hosted by Yicai Global, its parent Yicai Media Group and the Tokyo-based Nikkei Asian Review, the event will be themed around 'the future of artificial intelligence and robotics.'

Hiroshi Ishiguro, who created Japanese robot news anchor Erica and directors the Intelligent Robotics Laboratory at Osaka University will present at the conference, as well as the first robot to obtain Saudi Arabian citizenship: Sophia.

The event will hold discussions on how education in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area will lay the talent-based foundations for the AI sector, and will feature talks from executives at SenseTime and Intellifusion -- two firms dedicated to visual recognition.

Cai Xinfa, special assistant to Ping An Bank's president, and Yang Qiang, chief AI officer at Tencent Holdings' WeBank, will also explain how AI can be applied in inclusive finance.
