(Yicai Global) Dec. 6 -- The United Kingdom's (UK) innovation agency, Innovate UK, also known as the Technology Strategy Board, will actively cooperate with China and share its wind power construction market of USD100 billion in the next few years, the UK-based Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult Ltd. (ORE Catapult) was quoted by China's ministry of science and technology as saying.

The cooperation program, named the "International Research Platform on Offshore Wind Power," between the two parties is financed by the Innovate UK and supported by the ORE Catapult. It is aimed at encouraging relevant enterprises and development personnel in the UK's wind power industry to step up exchanges with China's ministry of science and technology. 

China's plans to invest USD100 billion in wind power projects by 2020 present a golden opportunity for the high-tech companies in the offshore wind power supply chain in the UK, noted ORE Catapult.

The major developers of wind power farm in China, as well as the China wind energy equipment association (CWEEA), help UK enterprises to develop and implement specific market solutions and advance the development of offshore wind power in China.
