(Yicai Global) June 23 -- WeRide has raised USD310 million in its latest funding round led by the venture capital arm of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance and the state-backed China Structural Reform Fund, the Chinese autonomous driving startup said today.

Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance was a strategic investor in WeRide back in 2018. The French-Japanese auto alliance will continue to collaborate with WeRide to promote research and development in autonomous driving technologies as well as business development in China, the press release said.

Other participants in the Series C fundraising included Pro Capital, IDG Capital and Costone Capital, Singapore's K3 Ventures and prior investors such as Chinese media giant CMC’s venture capital arm, WeRide said.

Guangzhou-based WeRide completed a USD310 million B-round fundraiser in January, led by Henan province-based commercial vehicle maker Zhengzhou Yutong Bus and others. It has now secured over USD600 million in the past five months, boosting its valuation to USD3.3 billion.

Its Robotaxi fleet has served over 60,000 customers with more than 147,100 trips made in the first year of operations without any incidents, WeRide said in December last year.
