(Yicai Global) April 9 -- China's major mainland stock benchmarks rose higher in the morning session while Shenzhen's tech board performed the best with a more than 1 percent gain.

The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, climbed 1.37 percent to 1,991.63by the midday break.The Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.28 percent to 2,823.27. The Shenzhen Component Index was at 10,440.86, up 0.52 percent.
