(Yicai Global) Aug. 3 -- China's mainland stock markets started the month significantly higher as investors bet on the nation's economy to accelerate its recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.67 percent to 3,332.18. The Shenzhen Component Index climbed 0.98 percent to 13,771.74. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, began 1.29 percent stronger at 2,831.35.
