(Yicai) Sept. 25 -- London Tech Week, one of the most influential tech events in the United Kingdom, will feature its first China pavilion next year to help more Chinese companies show their innovation capabilities and connect with the global market, according to the senior account manager of the event's organizer.

"It's really exciting to announce that we will be running a China pavilion in 2026, the first of its kind," Harriet Radcliffe said to Yicai in an interview during a recent visit to the country. "It's an amazing opportunity for large enterprises as well as SMEs, which are ready to globalize outside the domestic market in China and become potentially household names in Europe and the UK."

The annual London Tech Week, which brings innovators, entrepreneurs, and investors to speed up tech innovation, will be held from June 8 through 10 at Olympia London and across the city from June 8 through 12 next year, the organizer said, adding that it is expected to draw over 200 exhibitors, 500 speakers, and 50,000 attendees from over 90 countries and regions.

London Tech Week is a very global event, Radcliffe noted. "We have more than 35 pavilions and government sponsors from different countries in Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and North and South America, so it would be really great to see China's presence there. "

The China pavilion will focus on cutting-edge fields, including artificial intelligence, fintech, green technology, and healthcare, Radcliffe said, adding that there is a lot of synergy within these areas for cross-border collaboration with the UK, opening up doors of opportunity for Chinese businesses in Europe.

Chinese carmaker Chery Automobile debuted with its electric vehicle brand Omoda at London Tech Week last year and participated again this year, Radcliffe pointed out.

"Following what Chery Auto did with London Tech Week, big EV brands start looking at the event as an opportunity to showcase their clean technology and sustainability, and the EV market in the UK is definitely somewhere that could be tapped into for Chinese companies," she added.

Just like the UK launched London Tech Week as a platform to promote innovation, China is also a great promoter of technology, Radcliffe noted, pointing out that Chinese cities like Shanghai offer strong incentive policies to support the development of tech firms and startups.

According to Radcliffe, tech innovation can boost globalization and help the world's economy recover from the recent recessions. The relationship between the UK and China will be more positive and open next year, and London Tech Week can solidify that relationship and build on new ties, she noted.
