(Yicai Global) Sept. 15 -- Huawei Technologies has launched the ‘Kuanghong Mining Operating System,’ which brings the Internet of Everything into the mining sector, and is the first entry of the Chinese telecoms giant’s self-developed Harmony OS into the ‘Business-to-Business’ field from ‘Business-to-Customer,' online news outlet The Paper reported.
Developed together with the China Energy Investment Corp., Kuanghong can connect the different machinery used in mines, overcoming for the first time the challenges of different manufacturers, to create a smart mine that is safer and greener, the two parties said yesterday.
Kuanghong is linked to 20 different sets of equipment and has achieved remarkable results in Shendong Coal Group’s four mines and six factories, said Deputy General Manager He Haitao.
HarmonyOS will be applied in more business scenarios in future, said Wang Chenglu, president of AI and All-scenario Intelligence Business Unit of Huawei Consumer Business Group.
HarmonyOS 2.0 is the fastest operating system to exceed 100 million users globally, Richard Yu, chief executive of Huawei Consumer Business Group, said on Sept. 13. Huawei expects to reach 300 million HarmonyOS users by the end of this year, with 200 million of them using the firm’s devices, it said previously, adding that it aims to take a 16 percent market share.
