Huawei Will Introduce Products in US Despite Collapse of AT&T Deal Huawei Will Introduce Products in US Despite Collapse of AT&T Deal

(Yicai Global) Jan. 10 -- Huawei Technologies Co. may have missed out on a deal with AT&T Inc., but it still has a future stateside.

The tech giant told CNBC "that it will not sell its flagship Mate 10 Pro smartphone in the US via AT&T," confirming reports that talks between the device maker and the telecoms company fell apart.

Despite the setback, the Shenzhen-based group will offer "a version of its new Mate 10 Pro smartphone that is unlocked and not tied to a specific carrier," Bloomberg quoted to a person familiar with the firm as saying.

"Huawei will introduce new products to the US market, including availability," a spokesperson wrote in an email.

The Chinese company said it has proved its high-tech capability in the US market over the past five years by promoting and selling high-end products there.

Huawei can bring better products, innovation, and user experience to US carriers and consumers, Yu Chengdong, chief executive of the company's consumer business group, said earlier this year.

The Wall Street Journal reported yesterday that a US handset distribution partnership between Huawei and AT&T had collapsed.
