(Yicai Global) July 20 -- Mercedes-Benz will recall 32,786 vehicles imported to China because of potential safety hazards in their electronic stability program.
The German automaker began yesterday to recall some imported S-Class and EQS cars produced between June 14, 2021, and March 22, 2023, according to a notice posted yesterday on the website of China’s State Administration for Market Regulation.
The internal monitoring program of the recalled vehicles’ ESP may wrongly detect a fault at the start of the driving cycle, resulting in limited functionality of the dynamic control system and potential safety risks.
Mercedes-Benz will upgrade the ESP control unit software of vehicles covered by the ‘recall free of charge’ policy for drivers who bought them at Mercedes-Benz dealers, the SAMR noted.
