(Yicai Global) July 27 -- At least 500 tourist attractions in China have already introduced or plan to bring in concessions such as free tickets and sharp price cuts, according to Beijing Business Today.

Scenic spots have been doing their best to boost tourism since the country lifted a ban on inter-provincial group tours following the novel coronavirus outbreak, the report said yesterday.

Shanxi province will admit visitors free of charge to 126 attractions above A level from Monday to Friday during this half of the year, including the famous sights of the Yungang Grottoes, Mount Wutai, and the ancient city of Pingyao.

5A tourist sites, such as Tang Paradise in Xi’an, Shaanxi province, and more than 80 percent of that city’s national museums will open for free from Aug. 1.

Guizhou province’s 420 A-level scenic areas, such as the Huangguoshu Waterfall and Mount Fanjing, will waive admission charges until July 31.

From August to the end of this year, Shandong province will halve the cost of tickets to 81 attractions, including Mount Tai in Tai’an, the Temple and Cemetery of Confucius and the Kong Family Mansion in Qufu, and the World Best Spring Scenic Area in Jinan.

Some locations are selling preferential package tours by combining their scenic sites, accommodation and other tourism and leisure services.

In addition, many scenic spots have begun themed activities like music festivals and so-called night-time economy events to entice visitors. Disney Town at Shanghai Disney Resort, for example, will hold a night market every weekend from July 10 to Aug. 30, it said.
