(Yicai Global) Nov. 2 -- Urumqi Aihua Yingtong Information Technology Co. (UAYIT) has raised tens of millions of yuan in its first funding round and plans to use the proceeds to improve product lines, expand its client support team and promote its brand, online media outlet 36Kr reported today.

Founded in April this year, UAYIT is a technology company which provides image recognition solutions to business clients. Its core services include the use of three-dimensional facial scans to unlock devices, albums that can pick human faces from images, ultra-fast keyword search systems and other tools to help manage file systems. The functions are locally-based, rather than on the cloud, and the firm has developed its own privacy protection systems for them.

The company, based in Urumqi, capital of China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, officially unveiled the products two months ago and has already sold 200,000 sets. Its clients are generally Android phone makers and most have been from overseas so far.

UAYIT is also developing new Android apps based on facial recognition technology, such as face comparisons and expression detection. It is also working on security products, smart homes and on-board devices for vehicles to measure driver fatigue.
