(Yicai Global) July 3 -- A unit of China's internet giant Tencent Holdings will acquire the exclusive rights to a mobile game adaptation of Game of Thrones: Winter is Coming, based on the popular American HBO series.
YooZoo Games will sell its self-developed game's copyright to Tencent Computer System for the latter to commercialize it on its platforms, the Shanghai-based software developer said in a statement. The pair did not disclose the price of the deal.
Tencent is the world's biggest game company, and its game revenues last year were USD12.7 billion, up 44 percent. This was almost double that of Sony's, its closest rival at USD6.6 billion.
