(Yicai Global) Nov. 16 -- Groupe PSA chose Chinese smartphone maker Huawei Technologies Co.'s Internet of Things technology to build its connected vehicle modular platform and to provide innovative mobile travel services for users, state-owned Xinhua news agency quoted Huawei as saying in a communique it published in Paris yesterday.

The platform will cover the entire international community based on Huawei's public cloud, supporting 10 billion vehicles connect to the network, providing cross-industry interconnection and promoting the integrative development of Internet of Vehicles services, smart families and intelligent cities to create comprehensive services for people, vehicles, daily life and society.

"Huawei is honored to be a strategic partner of Groupe PSA in global mobile travel service," said Xu Zhijun, Huawei's acting chief executive. "Groupe PSA is committed to providing mobile travel services to consumers through innovative solutions. I believe that through the efforts of PSA Peugeot Citroen and its partners, its mobile travel services can become the global benchmark for the automotive industry and lead the world."

Groupe PSA owns Peugeot, Citroen, DS Automobiles, Opel and other brands, and is the second largest carmaker in Europe behind Volkswagen.
