(Yicai Global) May 31 -- China's Huawei Technologies has sold 5 million wearable devices in the first quarter, almost four times last year's tally, which makes it rank third in terms of global market share after Apple and Xiaomi, market research firm IDC reports.
The telecoms giant's success in wearables is directly tied to its strong smartphone sales as those two devices are usually connected, the report added. At 44.5 percent, Huawei posted the highest annual growth rate of phone sales among the world's top five handset makers in the first quarter, logging 58.4 million shipments.
